RCCEF Hold the International Seminar on ‘Global Green Finance Development’

On the afternoon of October 16th, RCCEF and Canada International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) jointly held international seminar on ‘Global Green Finance Development’ in room 606, academic hall of the Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE). This seminar had in-depth discussion on the most key issues of Green Finance Development such as how to ensure the capital invest to the green and sustainable area and what is the current situation and challenges. The seminar was co-host by Yao Wang, the director of RCCEF and Sinmon Zadek, the senior researcher of IISD.





During the seminar, professor Huayong Niu, the dean of International Business School, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Sheng Chen, the manager of Innovation Supervision Department of The China Banking Regulatory Commission(CBRC),Guoxing Xu, the member of No.1 Future Supervision Department of China Securities Regulatory Commission(CSRC), the director Yaqin Chen and members from Industrial Bank Carbon Finance Center, Sujin Zheng, the associate professor of Actuarial Research Institute presented many valuable views on the current situation and challenges of Global Green Finance Development from the perspectives of public green finance awareness, green credit regulation, carbon futures, bank green credit experience and green insurance.


Jessica Robinson, the CEO of Association for Sustainable and Responsible Investment in Asia(ASrIA), Nick Robins, the director of HSBC Center of Climate Change Excellence, Sean Kidney, the CEO and co-founder of Climate Bonds Initiative(CBI), Thomas A. Myers, the president and founder of China Institute for WTO Studies and other international experts have shared the experiences of the world green finance development and have made brilliant comments on the views of Chinese experts, which can provide valuable insights and suggestions to China Green Finance Development.


The seminar participants including Edward Baker, the director of Climate Change Center of British Council Shanghai Office, Tor Skudal, the environment counselor of Royal Norwegian Embassy, Shan Liang, the officer of the economic and finance department of the Canadian Embassy, Iselin Stensdal, the researcher of Norwegian Nansen Institute, researches of RCCEF and CUFE students joined the discussion.
